What a nice place to go! Delicious food and nice service!
Every 3 years or so, I make an effort to go visit friends and family in Lima. And every time I go, it’s always a culinary journey. After eating 3 times at Cosme during my last trip, I knew I wanted to try James Beckemeyer’s newest restaurant. The atmosphere is a modern, stylish take on a New York bar. There is a light, smokey smell in the air that makes the mind wonder what indulgent flavours await. I am a huge fan of chefs who use fire and smoke to add flavour to a dish and Alado does not disappoint. I recommend doing family style ordering because every dish is unique in its own right. Go for a wide variety of dishes and share with your companions. You’ll be surprised by what you find. Particularly, I would draw some attention to the steak tartar and the eggplant dish. Both had my taste buds playing tricks on me and wanting more. The cocktails were a nice touch. Trying to stick with the “smoke” theme, my wife and I ordered wonderfully balanced drinks to match. James is definitely trying to up his game with Alado and it’s a great stop during your trip to Lima.
Alado is probably one of the most underrated and delicious places in San Isidro. From the Chef and founder of Cosme, James Berckemeyer, Alado (actually in front of Cosme) has some outstanding options, like the skirt o entraña, most probably the best in town, the beef hotdog is a true winner, the pastel de choclo is delicious, and the Arroz con pato (duck rice) is superb The drinks are also superb and the Heavenly Gin is a must try, my favorite Highly recommended!!
I went few weeks ago with a friend. It was our very first time there and it was really good. Mocktails were really good and also the ribs !
Had an amazing dining experience at Alado. The service was very good and accommodating. Everything we had was spectacular. The conchas, camarones, angus hot dog, lomo fino, lomo stroganoff and sides were delicious. My lomo fino was precisely cooked to temperature. The cocktail (old fashioned) was excellent. I am definitely coming back next time I am in Lima.
SENSATIONAL! we went her on a whim, no recommendation. WOW! Short ribs were fabulous! Bone marrow amazing! Pork, wow! An all meat night for sure, but well worth it!
